LAWREADER.COM:   TIME TO TRADE YOUR QUILL PEN FOR A MOUSE

LawReader.com was designed and developed by Kentucky lawyers who believed  that it was time to take advantages of electronic technology and revolutionize the deliver of legal resources.  The idea was to place an entire law library online, and make it accessible from anywhere in the world, to make it easy to use, and of course our goal we wanted to keep the price as low as possible so that we could serve the entire legal profession.

We have assembled a massive 50 state, Federal Circuit Court and U.S. Supreme Court case law data base,  and links to statutes of all 50 states. You’ll find the entire U.S. Code, Administrative Regulations ..both state and federal, practice tips, rules of procedure, tutorials and lessons on specific Kentucky practice topics.  In March we added “The Law School”..where we provide basic outlines of many law school courses. We have spent thousands of man hours inspecting the best legal resources available on the internet, and we provide links to those resources.  We have indexed these links to allow “seamless” one-click access directly from LawReader.com.  New content is  added daily.

We know that some lawyers still prefer to do their legal research by driving to the nearest Law School library, and some don’t mind the high prices and difficult operating systems of Westlaw and Lexis™,  but since we launched in September of 2002, we have grown rapidly as lawyers from all over 101 Kentucky cities have signed up.  They have told us that we allow them to do their work faster, we are easy to learn, we have allowed them to expand their practice into areas they were hesitant to take on in the past, they can easily work from home as well as the office, the quality of their work has improved, and of course…they love our low all inclusive monthly user fee of only $29.95 per user.

A few judges have been spotted using LawReader on the bench. (All judges now have an internet connection on the bench and can access LawReader quickly.)  They can check out a citation or Evidence Rule before the attorney has taken his seat.  With a wireless connection, or a dial-up modem you can take your laptop to the court room and have a law library at your table, e-mail your staff for rapid support, and can maintain your calendar for setting of hearings and trials. You can even ask the judge to allow you to use the clerk’s computer to check out a case to settle a point!

LawReader.com is a subscription based service, and you can enroll online. We don’t require long term contracts, and have no hidden charges or extra download fees.
