Some users have reported a problem in logging in to FastCase.  This may be the solution.

ProblemUser uses partner site to log in to Fastcase. After entering login info, instead of getting the Search page, the user is bumped to the Fastcase corporate homepage.

Solution: User's cookie setting is preventing login.

Go to the START button on lower left of your Windows screen:

Select CONTORL PANEL, then select:>Internet Options-->then select: Privacy-->Advanced-->Check Override Automatic cookie handling  (slide the bar down to lower cookie blocking).

Check Always allow session cookies

If that doesn’t work then Look at your Firewall Settings

Some users trying to access the FastLaw case law data base are reporting problems accessing this site through LawReader.   We have tested access and find that the problem only occurs randomly.  Most users are not experiencing this problem.

We have checked with FastCase and they suggest that the problem is believed to relate to the particular users Firewall settings and Privacy settings.

The Firewall is installed on most computers to prevent hackers from entering the computer.  This is a good thing to have on your computer.  However, each user must set the degree of blocking under which their own Firewall will operate.

We have found that these problems often occur shortly after someone has worked on the users computer and upgraded the Firewall or installed a new Firewall.

Here’s how to fix the problem.   Most Firewalls are accessible from your program directory.  Go to the Start button on the lower left of your windows browser screen.

Click on Start, then select program, then find and select the software program for your Firewall.  It may be Nortons, or some other type of Firewall.   Open that software and find the privacy settings or a setting that tells the level of blocking you want it to operate at.

We recommend a MEDIUM setting.  If the Firewall is set at HIGH it will block access to LawReader and to FastCase.   Some users recommend setting the Firewall at LOW.

Or try this to allow COOKIES,

Another possible solution may involve your privacy setting in Windows.  This is a setting that you make on your own computer.  If you have the privacy setting set to exclude cookies, then FastCase may not be able to recognize that your are an authorized user.

Please read the article regarding Cookies and how to clean up your accumulation of surfing debris.  This may solve your problem.

                                 Clear Your Temporary Internet Files

As you surf the web, every page, every graphic, cookie, etc. is saved in your temporary internet files. Why is this? Well, for one, if you visit a page often it brings up the files from the cache rather than getting them online, thus making the page appear quicker. The down side is that this can cause an old page to come up when content may have changed on the real page. Another negative is that these cached pages take up space on your hard drive.

The good news is that you can dump them. If you regularly run Disk Cleanup, then the Temporary Internet Files will be emptied in the process.

 Go to:

Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools . DC looks for files you don't need then displays them. Make sure that "temporary Internet Files" is selected then click OK .

If you just want to remove temp files, with Internet Explorer you go to Tools/Internet Options , then under "Temporary Internet Files" click the "Delete Files" button.

With Netscape go to Edit/Preferences and click the "Advanced" arrow. Select "cache" and you'll see buttons to clear Memory Cache and Disk Cache.

There are also software programs like iClean Internet Cleanup that will empty your temp files automatically and monitor your cookies, only allowing in those you specify.

You should regularly clean out your Temporary Internet files to save space and increase security.

You should direct the operating system on your computer to allow cookies.

IF EITHER OF THESE SOLUTIONS DON’T SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM, PLEASE CALL US AT 502-732-4617 OR E-MAIL US AT GWENCEO@HOTMAIL.COM
