Nov. 10, 2006   -  Christmas Planning for Troops in Iraq underway.

The following letter was sent to LawReader by our War Correspondent Sgt. Kathleen Stafford of Owen County, Kentucky.   We believe that the least we all can do to support our troops is to give them some cheer for Christmas.  We suggest for a start that we give Sgt. Stafford and her 30 soldiers in Iraq a great Christmas Party.   Your donations and party ideas will be appreciated.

Sir

I would like to ask a favor.   If possible I would like to have about 30 of those miniture Christmas socks that can be bought I believe at the dollar store and some candy canes and Christmas Candy.

We are going to have a Christmas Party and I would like to give socks full of candy out.  I can have Shelley get a check from David to cover the cost but my husband is a slow poke about mailing things.  He is spoiled is what is problem is, I always take care of Christmas all he has to do is show up for the food.  Gotta love him though.

I would appreciate it if you could do this for me.

Kathy

Editors note:  LawReader is sending the Christmas socks and candy as our donation.  If anyone else would like to  "SEND SOME CHRISTMAS TO OUR TROOPS IN IRAQ"  please contact me at Firstjudge@aol.com and we will provide the mailing address.

We need a country ham, some spiral cut hams, candy, cookies, decorations, and lots of Christmas cards!!!
